Creative writing students promote their course

Creative writing students Willow Donovan and Mica Isaacs showed parents, carers and prospective students just how much fun the course can be when they helped at an Open Evening at Harlow College.

Willow and Mica described  to visitors how students not only learn to write in a variety of genres – from children’s stories to TV and radio scripts – but also take part in group writing games, set up their own websites and learn about computer programmes such as Adobe InDesign.

Mica said: “I had a lot of fun helping with the Open Evening. I’ve really enjoyed this course so far so I was very happy to, in a sense, try and sell this course to other people. I look forward to meeting the new students next year and hope to see a few familiar faces from the people I spoke to at the open evening.”

Willow commented: “I really enjoyed meeting all sorts of people that I may see on the course next year. Being able to share ideas and enthuse about our shared interest in creative writing was exciting and intriguing as we all had unique perspectives and opinions on the subject. Helping out with Open Evening was an enjoyable experience.”
