Lockdown’s skateboarding boom: How Herts and Essex were affected

THE SUMMER of 2020 saw a rise in skateboarding popularity comparable to the Millennium boom, following the release of the Tony Hawk video games. Many teens, children and even adults have picked up their boards over lockdown to get their skills up to scratch.

The Tokyo Olympics of 2020 will be the first to ever host skateboarding as an official event.
