Pets’ Corner: The perfect family day out in Harlow

SOMETIMES we live such busy lives that it is nice to have the opportunity to escape to a calm, relaxed environment and become one with nature and the animals.

Situated in Harlow Town Park, Pets’ Corner offers a free day out to see animals such as pigs, sheep, horses and goats. Its location offers the perfect destination with only a ten-minute walk from Harlow train station and a car park only a three-minute walk away.

Pets’ Corner brings the Harlow community together with multiple opportunities available for all ages. A popularchoice is giving up some of your free time and become a volunteer to help look after the animals, help with events and working in their gift shop. At Pets’ Corner, volunteering is extremely important as they need individuals to help with the volume of animals, even if it’s for a few hours a week. Currently, they have eighteen volunteers with the oldest aged 82. All volunteers must be over 14 years of age.

Additionally, Pets’ Corner works alongside schools and offers educational packages with the national curriculum allowing children to have a guided tour around the Town Park and Pet’s Corner and meet the animals. Other opportunities include shadowing a keeper for a day, birthday parties’ corporate events and sponsorships.
